Coro Philosophy
Where our worlds meet.
Every place animal and human life intersects: at our destinations, at home, on the move, in the neighbourhood, through care, play, learning, nature and the routines we share.
Act I · The premise
Animals adapted to a world built around us.
We brought animals deeper into our homes, our routines and our cities, yet the world around them continued to evolve primarily around human needs.
They learned to live within our schedules, our spaces and our expectations, while the environments intended to support them remained largely unchanged.
Their world
- Open ground and greenery
- Water, scent, changing surfaces
- Their own kind, and other species
- Shade, distance, somewhere to retreat
Our world
- Homes, shelter and safety
- Schedules that fit a working life
- Medicine, expertise, early diagnosis
- Routes, logistics, air conditioning
Coro begins from a different premise: if animals are to live alongside us, their needs must help shape the world we share.
Act II · Philosophy
Habitat by design.
Habitat is the set of conditions an animal needs to thrive. Five of them, brought into urban life wherever an animal happens to be.

Habitat can take the form of
- nature
- a space designed around behaviour

By bringing these conditions into urban life, Coro creates habitat by design.

Act VI · The name
Heart, the vital centre of a living system.
Chorus: distinct voices coming together to create something no single voice could produce alone.
Together, the two meanings describe how Coro works: a living system built around the whole life of the animal, with distinct disciplines operating in chorus.

Harmony.
EcotoneIn ecology, the transition between two habitats is called an ecotone. It shows us how life can flourish at the point where different worlds connect.
Coro is a layer of the city designed for animal life, bringing the conditions animals need to thrive into the spaces, services and routines of urban life.
